ON WINTER.
Now shiv'ring nature mourns her ravag'd charms,
And sinks supine in winter's frozen arms:
No gaudy banks delight the ravish'd eye,
But northern breezes whistle through the sky:
No joyful choirs to hail the rising day,
But froze crystal warps the leafless spray:
